Fashion Week Raises $700K for At Risk Youth

A week of fashion shows under the stars has helped the Center for Youth raise almost $700,000 to help at risk young people in the community. Fashion Week of Rochester wrapped up Saturday night, after five nights of runway shows highlighting area boutiques and fashion designers as well as aspiring models.

Over 5,000 people came to the shows that featured leaders in the community, veterans and firefighters with themes including urban chic and dogs.

“It was so special,” said Meghan Mundy, who produces Fashion Week of Rochester with Elaine Spaull. “We were sold out for every show.”

Fashion Week is the largest fundraiser for the Center for Youth, Spaull said. Over the years, money from the shows has made a major difference to several programs and shelters the nonprofit runs.
